Levels

Like many salons, WARMSPRINGS has a level system for its design team. The level system accomplishes two main goals. The first is to provide a career path of growth and achievement for our team. The second is to provide several options for the various needs of you, our guest. A designer’s level of competency or creativity is not necessarily related to the years of experience that he or she has. This is a common misconception. The training our team receives is aggressive, consistent, innovative and in-depth. It starts the moment they are hired and continues through their entire career with us. At WARMSPRINGS our designers achieve promotions based on several factors. These factors include guest satisfaction, retention, performance and education. We’ve tried to provide you with more information about our levels so you will have a better understanding of what you are getting when you choose your designer at WARMSPRINGS.

Associate

At WARMSPRINGS an Associate is one who is working toward a position as a New Talent designer. Associates are either experienced stylist who have recognized the potential of being a designer at WARMSPRINGS and has agreed to participate in our in-depth training program in order to become a designer, or they are graduates of cosmetology school who have chosen to come to us for the opportunity of continuing education and professionalism before they start their career behind the chair. In either case, all Associates are licensed cosmetologists.  This means they have met the requirements set out by the state in order to practice their trade on the general public. Our associates receive more advanced training in areas of technique, awareness, chemistry, creativity, communication, teamwork and professionalism than most experience stylist in the industry. Our associates’ daily participation at WARMSPRINGS allows us to accommodate your unpredictable schedule. This may include a last minute color touch-up or blow dry style that might not otherwise be available with one of our designers. The Associate program can last anywhere from 1 month to 1 year depending on the individual.

Stylist

At WARMSPRINGS, a New Talent Designer has graduated from our associate program and is now serving guests on the salon floor. In addition to the responsibilities on the salon floor, these designers spend every other Friday with our education team reviewing challenges or questions they are having over the past two weeks on the floor. They learn how to develop a creative vision by participating in “style jams”. A Style Jams is when more than one designer gets together to collaborate on another’s look.  Designer’s overcome obstacles, share vision, ideas and inspiration. They then transform the guest together.  Each designer has an annual education calendar tailored to their specific needs. This calendar includes everything from a 3 week boot camp at the ARROJO Education Studio in NYC to one-day workshops on cutting, coloring, color placement and finishing. All New Talent Designers are working toward achieving Artistic Designer.

Artistic

At WARMSPRINGS, an Artistic Designer has been promoted from the new talent designer and is working toward a Senior position. In addition to completing the associate program at WARMSPRINGS, an Artistic Designer has completed the following:  ARROJO™ Academy Razor Fundamentals I & II, Color I, selected Goldwell™ Academy courses, and successfully completed all In-House advanced education classes. Artistic Designers have several goals within our environment. Some of these goals are: They must average a productivity rate of 70% [EX. The designer sell 70 hours of 100 available], an average of 55% of their guest’s must pre-book their next appointment [WHY? This is a sure sign of guest satisfaction], they maintain a 65% retention rate [WHY? Because 65 of 100 guests continue to want to be serviced by this designer, another sure sign of guest satisfaction].

Senior

At WARMSPRINGS, a Senior Designer has been promoted from the Artistic designer and is working toward a Master position. In addition to completing the Artistic designer advanced education program at WARMSPRINGS, the Senior Designer has completed the following:  ARROJO™ Academy Razor Texture and Advanced Razor, Color II, selected Goldwell™ Advanced Academy courses, and successfully completed all In-House advanced education classes. Senior Designers have several goals within our environment. Some of these goals are: They must average a productivity rate of 80% [EX. The designer sells 80 hours of 100 available], an average of 60% of their guest’s must pre-book their next appointment [WHY? This is a sure sign of guest satisfaction], they maintain a 70% retention rate [WHY? Because 65 of 100 guests continue to want to be serviced by this designer, another sure sign of guest satisfaction]. Senior designers are also responsible for mentoring of our Associates.

Master

At WARMSPRINGS, a Master Designer has been promoted from the senior designer and is working toward a Director position. In addition to completing the Senior designer advanced education program at WARMSPRINGS, a Master Designer has completed the following:  all ARROJO™ Advanced Academy courses and Editorial Styling I, working toward a Goldwell™ Color Educator certification and successfully completed and assisted in teaching all In-House advanced education classes. Master Designers have several goals within our environment. Some of these goals are: They must average a productivity rate of 90% [EX. The designer sells 90 hours of 100 available], an average of 70% of their guest’s must make pre-book their next appointment [WHY? This is a sure sign of guest satisfaction], they maintain a 75% retention rate [WHY? Because 75 of 100 guests continue to want to be serviced by this designer, another sure sign of guest satisfaction]. Master Designers are also responsible for mentoring New Talent designers, creating education curriculum and leading the Associate Program.

Director

A Director Designer has achieved the highest position on the WARMSPRINGS salon floor. Directors have successfully completed all advanced education that AVEDA, ARROJO and Goldwell have to offer in regards to our Advanced Education System. Directors have not just achieved continuous promotions on our salon, but are highly regarded in the beauty industry. Directors maintain 100% productivity, 80%-90% pre-book average, 80%-90% retention and generally do not have an open appointment book [WHY? Directors run at 100% productivity and cannot accept new clients.] Director Designers are generally published in local, regional and national fashion and beauty publications, participate in editorial styling and photo shoots and are the creative directors for the annual WARMSPRINGS Trend Shoot.
